TFS Movie Review: Noelle
Friends, I’ve officially found the Christmas spirit.
It usually takes me until Thanksgiving to get there, but thanks to Disney+ launching this week, which feels like a giant Christmas present unto us all, I was ready to pull out my tree and all my decorations.
And this is all thanks to a delightful movie called Noelle.
Noelle is a Disney+ original movie that stars Anna Kendrick as Kris Kringle’s daughter Noelle. With only a few days until Christmas, Noelle’s brother Nick (Bill Hader) goes missing after inheriting the job of Santa from their father, and it’s up to her to bring him back to the North Pole in order save Christmas.
To be honest, they had me at Anna Kendrick.
Like you literally cannot go wrong with anything she is in. Pitch Perfect movies? Nailed it. Jessica in all the Twilight movies? The best. Table 19? Hilarious. Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates? Ok, not everything can be a winner, but you get it. The movie is not always a reflection of the person yall.
And surprise! The legendary Shirley MacLaine plays Noelle’s nanny. Basically, if you imagine Ouiser from Steel Magnolias as a nanny you’ve met Elf Polly.
This movie has everything that you could want or need in a classic Christmas movie:
☑︎ Decorations
☑︎ Presents
☑︎ Singing/caroling
☑︎ Family
☑︎ Romantic subplot
☑︎ Self-acceptance/self-realization
☑︎ A little magic
I mean what else do you need?
And in a strange turn of events, there is NOTHING that I dislike about this movie. Nothing. I love everything about it. And I think you will too.
So gather up your family or snuggle in by yourself and enjoy the magic of this movie. Because Christmas time is here.
